Sam Alvey

Sam Alvey is the current Middleweight World Champion of the MFC (Maximum Fighting Championship). The middleweight hero defended his title in May of 2014 when he KO’ed his opponent, Wes Swofford. This tremendous success was Sam’s 3rd straight victory, adding to his already impressive record of 22-5 (as of June, 2014). Retaining his champ title was icing on the cake, and his awesome record has now secured Sam a spot in the UFC. The major announcement has just been made that this rising star has been signed to make his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut against Tom Watson in August of 2014. Sam has his eye on the prize and is working with Team Quest in Temecula, California, training with all-time greats like Dan Henderson and Daniel Woirin to crush more opponents.

A few facts you may or may not know about Smile’n Sam:

• Sam was born on May 6, 1986. He began fighting out of Wisconsin and then moved to Murrieta, California to train alongside the Team Quest MMA pros.
• Sam is 6’2” (1.88m) and weighs 185 lbs. (83kg)
• He has signed to make his UFC welterweight debut against Tom Watson in mid-August 2014.
• He picked up the sport of MMA with no prior experience in 2007. By 2008, he began his professional MMA career with a King of the Cage win against Shane Malchiodi.
• He has competed in 3 different divisions: Light Heavyweight, Middleweight and Welterweight
• Sam earned his nickname, “Smile’n Sam” for obvious reasons. Sam has been described as having a happy spirit and he always has a smile on his face – sometimes even in the ring.
• Sam has fought in King of the Cage, Bellator and The Ultimate Fighter.
• Sam’s wife, model McKey Sullivan trains with him in MMA and was the winner of Cycle 11 of America’s Next Top Model.
